About Us
lima bean is the creation of two Melbourne sisters, Rachel Sharrock and Emma Hindhaugh, looking for that perfect impossible balance between raising young children at home and finding an outlet for imaginative, organisational and negotiation skills that doesn't involve play doh sculptures or breaking up wrestling tussles.
Between them Rachel and Emma have six boys and definitely know a lot about the business of changing nappies - from lovely little newborns to squirming, screaming toddlers.
With her first baby, Rachel lived in San Francisco for two years. While there she used a very basic compact change kit that was indispensible for napppy changes in the park, at friends homes or even in the boot of the car. However on returning to Australia she just couldn't find anything as compact.... so was planted the seed for the ChangeMate.
Rachel and Emma decided that the most important aspectsfor them were that it be as compact and as attractive as possible. Together, they designed the ChangeMate using beautiful American and Japanese fabrics,eliminated bulky padding and kept the dimensions to the minimum necessary.
